NEW ZEALAND’S NORTH ISLAND
New Zealand’s North Island is only three hours away when you fly with Air New Zealand direct from Brisbane to Auckland and is a fabulous honeymoon destination. The exchange rate makes the already reasonable prices even more reasonable. The food and scenery are amazing. The locals are very friendly and you can cover a lot of distance and experience so much diversity in a short time. You can pick up your hire care from Auckland Airport and take off on a very relaxing honeymoon in a very picturesque country.

ABOVE >> Three and a half hours north of Auckland is the historic town of Russell. Your honeymoon is the perfect time to spoil yourself and even if it is for just one night, to experience EAGLES NEST at Russell in The Bay of Islands is something you will never forget. This 75 acre estate has five world class villas and I was privileged to stay in the First Light Villa, which is their most romantic and has a mezzanine bedroom, a floor to ceiling glass shower and louvered skylight over the super king bed. It also has an indoor-outdoor fireplace and a private jacuzzi.
ABOVE >> Mudbrick Vineyard on Waiheke Island. Waiheke Island is a 35-minute ferry ride from Auckland. The island boasts beautiful beaches and gorgeous scenery and is known as New Zealand’s Island of Wine. A great way to see the island is to take an organised wine tour which takes in a number of vineyards and olive plantations. Make sure you stay at least one night on Waiheke.
ABOVE >> During my visit to Waiheke Island, I had the privilege of staying at THE BOATSHED and being spoiled by the host, Jonathan Scott. The Boatshed is an intimate island-style luxury hotel perched above Oneroa Bay. Jonathan spoils all of his guests with sensational breakfasts, all day dining and the most romantic candlelight dinners overlooking the bay. The food is simply divine and the accommodation is cosy, private and luxurious.
